◉ Metadata is created at the point of capture; during editing; and at disk, tape, cloud, and record storage.
◉ Metadata is gathered within the centralized system and the library cataloging system to create records used for preservation and access. These records will be published to WorldCat.
◉ Metadata gathered through the process will be used to support the creation of GEDCOM-compliant citation records. The GEDCOM record IDs will be stored in the library records.
◉ Metadata will follow primarily the DublinCore metadata standard with a few supplemental fields for preservation, such as fixity and storage location data.
